Who you are dealing with

Gold Coast Solar is owned and run by one person. The person who answers the phone is the person who quotes the job and the person on the roof. The owner also operates SolarWash CT, a solar panel cleaning company in Connecticut, and started Gold Coast Solar to bring the same method and the same photo-documented process to South Florida.

Why South Florida panels need this

Dirty panels lose output. Published studies put typical annual soiling losses in the low single digits on average, and much higher where pollen, dust, or bird droppings concentrate. South Florida concentrates all three: oak and pine pollen from February into May, Saharan dust from June through August, salt film along the Intracoastal and the beach, algae streaks in the wet season, and pigeons under almost every tile-roof array. Rain does not fix it. Dew and humidity cement the fine particles to the glass, and the mineral spots left behind when rainwater dries stay there.

How we clean

We use deionized water and soft brushes on a water-fed pole. No pressure washing, no detergents. Deionized water has its minerals removed, so it dries spot-free and leaves nothing behind. The soft brush lifts pollen film, dust, salt, algae, and bird droppings without touching the anti-reflective coating. It is the method panel manufacturers specify, so it is warranty-safe.

Tile roofs are cleaned from the pole wherever the array can be reached from the ground, a ladder, or the roof edge. When we have to be on tile, we use walk pads and step on the overlap, never the field of the tile.

Scope is cleaning and visual inspection. We read your monitoring app with you and note anything that looks low in the photo report so you know what to ask your installer about, and if we see something that needs a licensed solar or roofing contractor, we tell you and refer you.

Where we work

We are based in Fort Lauderdale and work north through Wilton Manors, Oakland Park, Coral Springs, Parkland, Coconut Creek, Lighthouse Point, and Deerfield Beach to Boca Raton, including West Boca. Most of our residential work is in gated communities, so we carry a certificate of insurance and register with your gate or association before the visit.
